The Hollywood trade publication is reporting that Disney is seeking to “save face” with its film production budget by reducing the amount of money it will pay actors and producers to do the same work that the studio was doing previously.
The article quotes an unnamed source familiar with the situation as saying Disney is “not going to make a dime off of these people.”
This is not the first time Disney has faced criticism over its movie production budget.
Last year, the Walt Disney Company said it was working on an effort to reduce its budget by at least $60 million from $4.9 billion last year to $3.9.
This is likely an attempt to try and increase its box office and profit.
As of now, the company has no plans to make any changes to its budget, but the article did say that it was seeking to make changes that would help it “make more movies.”
The company is also reportedly trying to increase its production costs by up to 30 percent.
In the article, the source also suggested that Disney’s decision to “divert” from the movie business to “be a content creator” was “a mistake.”
